In 2006, the Australian Institute of Architects reported that 130,000 Australian homes were attacked by termites in a year. If we multiply the average cost of repairs of $7000 by 130,000 homes, the result is a staggering figure, close to $1 billion a year!

The rate of termite attack as not slowed.
The costs of both professional pest control, tradesmen and building materials haveincreased and so that figure is pushed up to around $1.5 billion a year in 2011.
